Building Better Bonds Through Positive Reinforcement

Kind, effective dog training in Omaha, NE–designed to help dogs and their humans thrive together.

Positive Reinforcement Training

At Blue Pine Canine, I believe in training that’s rooted in science and compassion. Dogs learn best when they feel safe, motivated, and understood. That’s why I use positive reinforcement methods rewarding good behavior instead of punishing mistakes.

I follow the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) standard, which means training is always humane, effective, and never involves pain, pressure, or intimidation. This approach builds trust, strengthens the bond between you and your dog, and creates results that truly last.

Why Choosing the Right Trainer Matters

Did you know that dog training is an unregulated industry? That means anyone can call themselves a trainer—even without formal education, proven methods, or professional credentials.

Unfortunately, this leaves many dog owners confused and sometimes misled by outdated or harmful training practices. The wrong approach can damage trust, increase stress, and even make problem behaviors worse.

That’s why it’s so important to work with a trainer who uses positive reinforcement (R+) methods—techniques backed by science and recommended by veterinary behaviorists worldwide. R+ training builds confidence, reduces fear, and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

At Blue Pine Canine, I meet these standards because I believe your dog deserves training that’s safe, effective, and rooted in compassion.

How Training Works

Every family and dog is different, so I offer two flexible training platforms:

Coaching:

Each week, I’ll come to your home for a private coaching session where I guide you through teaching your dog new skills. Because the lessons happen in your dog’s own environment, training is more effective—dogs learn best in the places where they live, play, and face real-life challenges. You’ll also receive simple, practical homework to practice between sessions. Coaching is a great fit if you want to understand the “why” behind training and enjoy being hands-on in your dog’s progress.

Board & Train:

Your puppy stays with me for two weeks while I work with them throughout their daily routine. Training, socialization, enrichment, exercise, and real-world experiences are incorporated into their stay to build a strong foundation of manners and obedience. At the end of the program, we’ll meet for an owner transfer session where I teach you what your puppy has learned and how to continue building on their progress at home. The goal is to establish a strong foundation—not to completely train a puppy in two weeks. Continued training and practice at home are essential as your puppy grows and develops.

Note:

For clients outside of my travel radius or those unable to meet in person, I offer online video coaching via Zoom.

Both platforms use only positive reinforcement methods—science based, effective, and tailored to your dog’s personality and your goals.

What My Clients Are Saying

Beatrice

CUSTOMER

Ryne took excellent care of our puppy Shadow and we will definitely book him again. We were nervous about leaving her as she is a timid and slightly reactive rescue but Ryne understood her well. You could see her become more confident each day through the photos and videos he sent us. We’re happy we found him.

Perry

CUSTOMER

Ryne provided a superb dog-sitting experience for both Robie and me. Robie enjoyed a safe, friendly environment, and I enjoyed knowing Robie was in a pleasing, safe environment. Exactly what one wants from someone taking care of one’s dear canine companion. Very, very pleased. Would unequivocally recommend Ryne to others.

Ryne was nothing short of amazing with Maizey. I definitely would recommend him for all of your dog needs! He’s attentive to the dog and the human’s needs, and I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received. From our first interaction, he was friendly, professional, and you could tell that he is genuinely passionate about animals. He took the time to get to know my dog’s routine and personality, which made me feel confident in leaving my sweet Maizey in his care.

Ryne was fantastic! He was so good with our boys & was super helpful & just overall amazing. This was our 1st long vacation away from our dogs without our old sitter & we were nervous, but Ryne put us at ease the 1st time we met him & our boys loved him. We’re so happy to have found a new sitter. I would recommend Ryne to anyone looking for a great sitter for your pets, he communicates well & you can tell he loves the animals he cares for.

Ryne earned every dollar of this 2-month long, daily walking commitment. He spent at least 30 minutes on every visit, which we hadn’t always received with other Rover walkers in the past. Callie enjoyed every visit from Ryne.
